Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Heads to China for High Stakes Talks With Xi Jinping

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit China for talks with President Xi Jinping as Beijing and Islamabad strengthen their strategic partnership.

The visit comes amid growing regional tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran, energy security concerns, and shifting geopolitical alliances in Asia.

China and Pakistan describe each other as “all-weather friends,” with cooperation spanning trade, security, defense, and infrastructure projects.

Talks are expected to focus on energy routes, economic investment, regional stability, and security for Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.
