US CENTCOM says all six crew members on board a KC-135 refuelling aircraft that went down in western Iraq have been confirmed dead.
In a post on X, it said the circumstances of the incident were still under investigation, but the loss of the aircraft was “not due to hostile fire or friendly fire”.
The identities of the service members were being withheld until 24 hours after their families were notified, it said.
Earlier today the US military had confirmed four crew had died in the crash, and that rescue efforts were underway for the missing two.
