Israeli raids and incursions in Syria are escalating, with troops operating from bases inside the demilitarised zone, setting up checkpoints and making arrests.
While some detainees are released within hours, 51 Syrians are currently held in Israel.
There’s no information on their whereabouts, charges, or health.
Al Jazeera’s Heidi Pett has been speaking to those who have been released.
