The UN Security Council is set to vote on a US resolution to expand an existing arms embargo on Sudan’s Darfur region.
Rights groups and UN reports show that weapons shipments have been coming into Darfur despite the embargo.
Fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over the past three years has led to the world’s largest displacement crisis.
